Preparing artwork for an event backdrop in Singapore
A clear artwork brief helps turn an event backdrop design into a display that works at the venue and in photographs. Before sending your file for printing, confirm the finished size, the information people need to read and how the backdrop will be installed.
This checklist uses examples from the Werkz Productions backdrop portfolio to help you prepare artwork for an event in Singapore.
1. Start with the finished dimensions and layout
Confirm the backdrop width and height before laying out the artwork. Include the available stage or display space, and note anything that could hide part of the design, such as a lectern, furniture or speakers. Keep essential wording and logos away from edges, joins and areas likely to be covered by people.
If the display includes an opening or a shaped section, show it on the artwork layout. The visible print area may be different from the overall dimensions.

2. Give the event name and key message room to stand out
Decide what visitors should notice first. A backdrop may need an event name, a date, a main message and several sponsor logos, but these do not all need the same visual weight. Use clear spacing and contrast, then review a scaled proof from a distance.
The awards-stage example below combines a prominent central event identity with supporting logos and side panels. When preparing a similar layout, check both the full stage view and a tighter photograph: details that look clear on a computer screen can become small in a wide event photo.

3. Confirm file requirements before exporting
Ask your printer to confirm the file format, artwork scale, image resolution and bleed required for the chosen size and material. These requirements vary by project; a file prepared for a small poster may not be suitable for a large stage backdrop.
- Supply original logo files where available, rather than screenshots.
- Check photographs at the intended print size.
- Confirm how fonts should be supplied or converted before export.
- Keep a clearly named final version and identify the person approving it.
Check spelling, dates, contact details and sponsor logos carefully. If several people are reviewing the design, consolidate their feedback before sending the final artwork.
4. Plan the material, finish and installation together
Tell us whether the backdrop will be indoors or outdoors, how it will be used and whether it will appear in stage or event photographs. Discuss the material and finish before finalising the artwork. You can ask Werkz Productions about PVC banner and matt finish options for your project.
For installation, share the venue address, access arrangements, permitted setup window and any venue restrictions. Include a site photograph or layout if available. Confirm the installation scope and production schedule against your event date before work begins.
